This web database is to provide you information on internationalization of industrial science and technology among APEC economies. This is built using frames. There are two main frames.

This left frame is the menubar. All items are clickable and lead to relevant information. The yellow title at the top is clickable and takes you back to home page. Below this, there are the following service icons: Home: brings you back to the home page/welcome page. Help: this file that you are reading. Download: to download software like Netscape and Adobe acrobat reader, and project documents. Online: to connect online Contact: sends you to your email program for getting in touch with us. Search: sends you online to search for any particular topic. (this feature is available only when you are connected online. Next is the GENERAL SECTION, which includes general topics for discussion on R&D internationalisation. Next is the ECONOMY SECTION, which includes links to data on the 21 APEC economies.

This right frame is the main frame to display contents. Some points to remember while using this are: Some of the hyper links are local links and take you to a file within the CDROM. Others are links to websites online and you will have to be connected to the web to access information. To distinguish between the two, keep your mouse pointer on the link and see the status bar below to check if a web address (e.g. http://www.-----) is displayed or a local directory structure (D:\apecisti\isti\filename) is displayed. The former is a web/online link while the latter is a local link. For browsing topics, click at the topic in the left frame. You will get sub menu under this topic. Topic brief will be displayed on the main frame. Click at the required sub menu and the contents will be displayed in the main frame. For any clarifications/feedback, you can contact us.

You can navigate the site

• Through Left frame indexes. You can also expand and collapse the left frame menu by clicking a button at the top
• Each Content page has got the table of contents for that topic and for going to Site map. With Site map, you can go to any section.
• The content pages are indexed according to economy name and topic. There is a small button at the top of the left frame for indexingPlease select an economy and a topic name and then click select button to display the appropriate web page.

This help section will be expanded based on user trial and feed back to help the users to browse the information.
