Revision of the electricity saving period based on specific numerical targets within the Kyusyu EPCO area for this winter

Electricity Supply-Demand Review Meeting
On November 24, 2011, the Kyushu EPCO decided that the periodical inspection of unit 4 at the Genkai nuclear power station would be initiated from December 25, which is the statutory due date (13 month period). In line with this decision, we re-examined the supply-demand balance of the Kyushu EPCO and concluded that a certain level of supply capacity could be expected until the initiation date for the periodical inspection of unit 4 at the Genkai nuclear power station.
Accordingly, we have rescheduled the initiation date for electricity saving based on specific numerical targets within the Kyushu EPCO area, as determined under the "Electricity Supply-Demand Measures for this winter (November 1, 2011, the third Electricity Supply-Demand Review Meeting)". The initiation date has been rescheduled from the original December 19 (Monday) to December 26 (Monday).
