EA is a methodology for standardizing service procedures and information system, and creating highly efficient organization through optimizing the organization. It is also the basic principle for actualizing the highly efficient management of organizations.
In “e-Government Establishment Plan” established in July 2003, the government has announced “Service and System Optimization Plan,” which is the plan for improving service/system and includes the principles of EA within, by the end of the fiscal year 2005.

Activities by METI

Investigative Research of EA

In order to realize the high performance e-government and to renovate government procurement, improvement of procurement abilities becomes the absolute necessity. Thus, in May 2002, METI established “IT Associate Conference,” with professionals of system development and procurement management as its member, to identify the skills necessary by the IT investment management professionals. The results are announced on “EA Establishment Guideline Version 1.1.”
In addition, METI has conducted other investigative researches on EA, such as “Establishment of the Reference Model,” “IT Investment Valuation for the Government Procurement,” and “Service Modeling for the Government Procurement.”
