The Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award

“Monodzukuri ”is an art of making goods that has supported Japanese culture and industry and helped to improve the lives of the Japanese people. The Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award was established to recognize its ongoing development of monodzukuri and pass it on to the next generation by rewarding individuals for significant achievements.

Through this award project, we aim to re-appreciate the importance of Monodzukuri, to enhance the nationwide momentum for Monodzukuri, and to create a society where those engaged in Monodzukuri can be devoted to their work with pride and where young people and children--the main players of the future--are interested in Monodzukuri as an occupation to be respected and admired.

White Paper on Manufacturing Industries (Monodzukuri)

White Paper on Manufacturing Industries (Monodzukuri) is an annual report on measures that the government took to promote manufacturing technology. It was compiled pursuant to Article 8 of the Basic Law on the Promotion of Manufacturing Technology (Law No. 2 of 1999). This report was jointly prepared by three ministries—the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
