Social Business Messe 2011 – You Can See, Understand and Link with Social Business –
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will, in order to improve the recognition of social business* in the society and create new businesses, hold the third “Social Business Messe 2011” on March 14, 2011.
In this event, 70 or more social business entrepreneurs from all over Japan will meet together, show exhibition in booths and make presentation under the theme of partnership and collaboration. Visit the event if you are interested in this type of business.
Before holding the event, we will distribute motion pictures and invite opinions with taking advantage of social media on the special page in the portal website “Social Business Net”. We hope you will also visit the page.
*Social business … this refers to activities addressing social issues such as community revitalization, the aging society with fewer children, environmental conservation and poverty to solve such issues through business initiatives while securing commercial viability
Being interested in the possibility to create new industries and employments in local areas, METI promotes social businesses. Recently, they are also drawing attention as those leading the “new public commons” that are promoted by the government.
Thus, METI will organize the “Social Business Messe”, which celebrates its third anniversary this year.
This event has the concept “You can see, understand and link with social business”. Various partnership and collaboration cases between social businesses and enterprises will be exhibited and those who intend to start new businesses will make short presentations. In addition, we will hold a forum and distribute motion pictures with taking advantage of social media, and will provide an opportunity for direct communications with social business entrepreneurs all over Japan.
