Great East Japan Earthquake-related SME Measures No. 17 Support for new graduates in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake
- Organizing joint career fairs and publishing the names of companies eager to hire new graduates in affected areas -
In order to support people affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake to find jobs, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (SMEA) of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will organize joint career fairs as well as publish the names of companies showing interest in employing new graduates in earthquake-affected areas among companies participating in the Project to Support New Graduates’ Job Search.
1. Joint career fairs for new graduates in affected areas
SMEA will hold a series of joint career fairs in prefectures affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, with the first event taking place at Iwate Prefecture Industry Hall in Morioka, Iwate, on May 9.
2. Announcement of companies engaged in the Project to Support New Graduates’ Job Search that are eager to hire new graduates in affected areas
SMEA published a list of companies eager to employ new graduates in quake-affected areas among companies participating in the Project to Support New Graduates’ Job Search (see Appendix) (PDF:591KB)![]()

This list will be expanded to include additional companies found to be active in hiring such new graduates.
