The Fukushima Prefectural Government and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) have reached an agreement in principle to establish a special support program outside the ordinary financial assistance framework in order to help businesses severely affected by the nuclear power station incident.

2. To launch the new program at the earliest possible date, METI will continue discussion on the program’s specific design with the prefectural government with consideration of its needs.
