Upon approval of the first supplementary budget for FY 2011, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) made a request to the ministries and local governments (Tokyo, Hokkaido and other prefectures, cities with population of at least 100,000 and special wards of Tokyo) so that they make efforts to provide small and medium enterprises in the earthquake-affected area etc. with more opportunities to receive orders in relation to recovery projects etc.
Outline of the request
(1) When carrying out recovery projects etc., ministries should consider employment of earthquake victims. They should make efforts for small and medium enterprises to receive orders in the earthquake-affected area etc.
(2) When implementing recovery projects through local governments, ministries should make a request to such local governments with the same contents as in the request to those ministries.
