Start of Temporary Facilities Construction Project by SMRJ
The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (SMEA) is implementing a project where the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SMRJ) constructs facilities such as temporary stores and factories in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Contracts for some plans which SMRJ has completed coordination with the local government are now concluded and their construction will be started soon.
It is important that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the areas greatly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake can resume their business at an early stage. For this purpose, SMEA is, using the FY 2011 primary supplementary budget (approved on May 2), conducting a project that SMRJ constructs temporary stores and factories and leases them to SMEs free of charge in principle through local governments.

, for two plans that are ready for implementation, the related cities and the SMRJ have concluded the basic contracts, and construction will start on June 10.
Construction for other plans will be started one by one upon completion of coordination with the local governments.
