The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) will organize an event called the “Open Talk on Renewable Energy in AEON” at 14 AEON shopping malls across Japan. Its aim is to increase public understanding of the “feed-in tariff scheme for renewable energy” due to start in July 2012 and the significance of renewable energy.
1. Schedule
- Date: Weekends and holidays between October 23, 2011, and January 22, 2012 (see Appendix for specific dates)
- Venue: 14 open spaces in AEON shopping malls
- Target audience: General public (especially those willing to think about renewable energy for the first time)
- No prior registration is necessary. The public is free to come to the venue on the day of the event.
2. Event overview
- (1) Open Talk on Renewable Energy in AEON
-
A talk session will be held in an open space at each AEON shopping mall in order to communicate the significance of renewable energy and to outline the feed-in tariff scheme for renewable energy to visitors in an interactive manner.
-
Together with a reporter from the local TV station as a representative of the local people, ANRE staff will talk about the scheme in an easy-to-understand manner.
- (2) Related events in open spaces at AEON shopping malls
-
On each day of the Open Talk session, various publicity events will take place throughout the day, apart from the session itself. This will include displaying explanatory panels, showing video explaining the scheme, offering hands-on exhibitions related to power generation, and even giving children pictures for coloring. ANRE is planning these and other programs to let visitors learn about renewable energy while having fun.
- (3) Additional information
-
Apart from this event, ANRE plans to hold an explanatory meeting for citizens and businesses on the feed-in tariff scheme. We invite you to participate in this meeting, whose schedule will be posted on our website when decided.
