An expert panel will be established under the auspices of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry to review the current electricity rate system and its operation. The first meeting will be held shortly and the panel will reach a conclusion at the earliest possible date next year.

1. The report released by the “TEPCO Management and Finance Investigation Committee” points out problems with the current electricity rate system and its operation.
2. To address these problems, METI will establish an expert panel under the auspices of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry as described in the Appendix to swiftly review the current electricity rate system and its operation. The first meeting will be held shortly and the panel will reach a conclusion at the earliest possible date next year.
