(Reference) Summary of the Product Safety Inspection Seminar

As learned in the case of a fatal accident caused by carbon monoxide from an open-type gas boiler, it is necessary for consumers to appropriately recognize risks and use products properly in order to protect themselves from product accidents. Therefore, METI started the "Product Safety Inspection Seminar" in March 2007 to provide information and alert people about safe methods of use of products, recalled products etc. METI further decided that the "Product Safety Inspection Week" would be designated in November every year from FY 2006 so that it would focus on product safety PR activities during this week.
