The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Japan-China Economic Association will hold the Sixth Japan-China Energy Conservation Forum, a government-private joint forum of Japanese and Chinese energy and environmental fields in Beijing, on November 26, together with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Commerce of China as co-organizers.
In the forum, in addition to the keynote speeches by leaders from the government and private sectors of Japan and China and the project signing ceremony, working sessions for an exchange of views on relevant experiences to date, policy issues etc. in relation to energy conservation and the environment will be held in a total of seven fields that both Japan and China have vested interests in.
Further, prior to the forum in Beijing, local missions will be dispatched to Shangdong, Chengdu, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Nanjing and other regions so as to enhance the regional exchange of views in the fields of energy conservation and environment.
In this forum, government and private leaders from Japan and China will deliver messages on how to proceed with reciprocal cooperation in the fields of energy conservation and environment between the two countries. When promoting Japan-China cooperation in the fields of energy conservation and energy, enhancement of business between the countries would be the most realistic strategy to realize improvements in energy conservation and environmental fields through the diffusion of Japan’s advanced technology in China's enormous market in particular. Based on this idea, concerned parties of considerable influence in these fields from both countries will meet together so as to increase specific business and cooperation opportunities through improvement of mutual understanding.
