- Recall (free inspection and repair) of power conditioners for photovoltaic systems manufactured by Omron Corporation
[Joint Release with the Consumer Affairs Agency]Recall (free inspection and repair) of power conditioners for photovoltaic systems manufactured by Omron Corporation
Serious product accidents occurred with smoke emanating from power conditioners for photovoltaic systems manufactured by Omron Corporation and sold by Kyocera Corporation.
It is supposed that the accidents resulted from variation of insulation performance of film capacitors inside the products. Due to the effect of an abnormally high voltage from outside caused by thunder or the like and of ambient temperature during use, the component may have been short-circuited and emanated smoke.
To prevent further accidents, Omron Corporation will today issue a press release, post a message on its website, directly send a notice to users, and will start free inspection and repair of the recalled products.
The accidents were reported as serious product accidents under the provision of Article 35, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Product Safety Law, and announced by the Consumer Affairs Agency (Control Nos. A200900363 and A201100258).
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) would like to ask consumers possessing the products to have them inspected and repaired free of charge by Omron Corporation.
