Results of the Second Meeting of the Smart House Standardization Study Group, JSCA International Standardization WG EMS-SWG
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) convened the second meeting of the Smart House Standardization Study Group, which was established on November 7 to promote standardization of interfaces for smart houses between (1) house energy management system (HEMS) and electrical devices at home and (2) HEMS and smart meters. As a result, an interim report on discussions to date was compiled and released.
- The Study Group was established on November 7 by the Energy Management Sub-Working Group (EMS-SWG) under the International Standardization Working Group of the Japan Smart Community Alliance (JSCA), for technical discussion.
- The "HEMS Task Force" and the "Smart Meter Task Force" were set up within the Study Group for specific debates needed for swiftly and steadily promoting international standardization of smart-house technologies, with a view to implementing the government policies of improving the present energy supply-demand balance and building a smart community.
- In consideration of progress made by the two Task Forces, the Smart House Standardization Study Group prepared an interim report.
