Today (December 21), the first “Government and TEPCO's Mid-to-Long Term Countermeasure Meeting” was held with attendance of Mr. Edano, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Mr. Hosono, Minister for the Restoration from and Prevention of Nuclear Accident, the co-chairpersons of the meeting. At the meeting, the “Mid-and-long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4, TEPCO” as well as the implementation and management system for the roadmap have been decided. In addition, both the Ministers gave directions regarding nine issues to the three related organizations: Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency.
