Authorization of Panasonic Corporation’s business restructuring plan under the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation
On December 28, 2011, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) approved a business restructuring plan submitted by Panasonic Corporation.
In accordance with the plan, Panasonic will seek to enhance its sales base and marketing capacity through a unified sales platform and to improve its productivity and corporate value through centralized, efficient business management enabled by the integration of its lighting, electrical appliance and device businesses.
1. Authorization of the business restructuring plan
Pursuant to Article 5, Paragraph 6 of the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation, METI examined the business restructuring plan submitted by Panasonic on December 16, 2011, and found that the plan fulfilled the requirements for a change in the business structure set forth in Article 2, Paragraph 4, Item 1 of the same Act, and those for business innovation set forth in Item 2 of the same Paragraph. METI approved the plan on December 28, 2011.
The company is now entitled to support in the form of registration and license tax reduction.
