- Recall (Product Recall) of Electric Heaters Imported by Tsann Kuen Japan
[Joint press release with the Consumer Affairs Agency]Recall (Product Recall) of Electric Heaters Imported by Tsann Kuen Japan
Serious product accidents have occurred with electric heaters imported by Tsann Kuen Japan. Specifically, fire broke out from heaters causing burns to the product and the area around it.
Although the cause of the accident is still under investigation, it seems that poor contact with the power cord at the connecting section of the output changeover (rotary) switch of the product caused abnormal heat resulting in fire.
To prevent further accidents, the company today made an official announcement in newspapers and posted a message on its website to ask users to stop using the product and started a product recall.
Three cases of accidents occurring involving the product have been reported to the Consumer Affairs Agency as serious product accidents under the provision of Article 35, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Product Safety Law and were announced.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) would like to ask consumers possessing the products to stop using them and return them to the company so as to prevent any further accidents from occurring.
