[Joint Press Release with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] Result of the 13th round of negotiation for Trilateral Investment Agreement among China, Japan and South Korea
On March 1, the negotiation for the Trilateral Investment Agreement among China, Japan and South Korea greatly progressed. The three countries decided to continue coordination aiming at an early conclusion.
- On March 1, the 13th round of the negotiation for Trilateral Investment Agreement among China, Japan and South Korea was held in Tokyo.
- In attendance were Keiya Iida, Deputy Director-General for Trade Policy, Trade Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); Takehiro Kagawa, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), as well other officials from Japan; Li Chenggang, Director-general of the Department of Treaty and Law at the Ministry of Commerce and other officials from China; and Choe Cholkyu, Deputy Director-general of the Regional Trade Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as well as other officials from South Korea.
- At the meeting, negotiations were made on the basis of the draft clauses containing proposals from the three countries together so that the Agreement would be advantageous for investors, and great progress was achieved.
- The three countries decided to continue coordination aiming at an early conclusion.
