Addition of an entity subject to accompanying measures implemented pursuant to the UN Resolution against Iran

Based on United Nations Security Council Resolutions ("UN Resolutions") 1737, 1747, 1803, and 1929 on Iran's nuclear issues, the Government of Japan has been implementing a series of measures against Iran's nuclear activities.

Japan is seriously concerned about the situation regarding Iran's nuclear issues, including its continuation and expansion of enrichment-related activities against past UN Resolutions and a resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In consideration of the situation, the government has decided to apply measures already taken under the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act (hereinafter "the Foreign Exchange Act") to an additional entity described below pursuant to today's Cabinet approval of "addition of an entity subject to accompanying measures implemented pursuant to UN Resolution 1929." Japan takes this action to contribute to global efforts toward international peace.
