Seventh meeting of the Japan-China Information Technology and Industrial Policy Dialogue
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China held the seventh meeting of the Japan-China Information Technology and Industrial Policy Dialogue in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture on February 28, 2012.
The meeting was organized to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China. Both parties acknowledged that bilateral exchange and cooperation in both business and public sectors have advanced in the electronic information technology industry and that mutual dependence has deepened. The jointly prepared summary of the meeting (see Appendix in Japanese) is hereby released.
1. Objective
The Japan-China Information Technology and Industrial Policy Dialogue is a periodic policy dialogue between the Director-General of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, METI, and the head of the International Cooperation Bureau, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. They discuss general IT policies in both countries, including environmental, recycling and standardization problems with electronic devices, the development of the information service and software industry as well as the game and anime industry, and the promotion of e-commerce.
