ASEAN Road Show– Economic Ministers of ASEAN Economies will visit Japan –
The "ASEAN Road Show" will be held from April 25 to 28. In the road show, ASEAN Economic Ministers will visit Sendai and Tokyo for exchange of views with people from the political, administrative and business circles, symposiums, visit enterprises and visit the affected areas. The purpose of these events is to further promote and enhance investment in trade for the East Asian region including Japan and ASEAN economies and to strategically build the economic relationship between Japan and ASEAN for both public and private sectors.
- The road show was requested by ASEAN at the "Dialogue between the Economic Ministers of ASEAN and the Federation of Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in ASEAN (FJCCIA)" in July 2011. Japan stated its acceptance at the Japan-ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting in August 2011.
- The purpose of the ASEAN Road Show is to further promote and enhance investment in trade for the East Asian region including Japan and ASEAN economies and to strategically build the economic relationship between Japan and ASEAN for both public and private sectors. In addition, by having ASEAN economic ministers visit the affected areas, we will share knowledge and lessons toward construction of a disaster-robust economy in East Asia and will demonstrate Japan's recovery from the Great Earthquake (See the appendix (PDF:39KB) for major events)
- From ASEAN, economic ministers from ASEAN member economies and the ASEAN Secretary-General will participate in the events. From Japan, people from economic organizations and private companies will participate in addition to government officials concerned.
