Joint Release with the Cabinet OfficeSummer Energy Conservation Measures-Summer Energy Conservation Campaign from June to September-

1. The Inter-Ministerial Liaison Council for the Promotion of Energy and Resource Conservation Measure is comprised of ministries and agencies and has been held each year before the beginning of summer time and winter time during which energy consumption will be increased. The Committee made a decision on the "Summer Energy Conservation Measures" as attached below.
2. Since it is strongly requested that necessary electricity supply-demand measures be taken this summer, the energy conservation measures will promote energy saving actions integrated with the electricity supply-demand measures which are to be determined separately(PDF:94KB).
3. The government will encourage the public to cooperate with such energy conservation and electricity saving practices.
4. The government itself will take the lead in engaging in energy conservation measures such as the adequacy of air cooling and the reduction of lighting.
