FY 2012 METI Minister Award to Recognize Contributions to Traditional Craft Industries
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces the FY 2012 recipients of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award to recognize contributions to traditional craft industries.
The presentation ceremony will be held during the national convention commemoration at the 29th Traditional Craft Products Month National Assembly, which will take place on October 31, from 2:00 p.m., at the "Urara, Komatsu Arts Theater" in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
1. METI Minister Award to recognize contributions to traditional craft industries
This award program was established in 1984, with the aim of fostering the wider use of traditional craft products in peoples' lives and motivating those who are engaged in traditional craft industries, by recognizing individuals and so on that have made significant contributions to the development of Japan's traditional craft industries.
2. Recipients this year
This year, 49 individuals who have made significant contributions to the promotion of traditional craft industries will receive awards during the national convention commemoration at the 29th Traditional Craft Products Month National Assembly, which will take place on October 31, 2012, at the "Urara, Komatsu Arts Theater" in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
