METI held a Symposium Titled “Aiming at Creation of Venture Companies Leading the Next Generation” and a Report was Compiled by the U.S.-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council
On October 17, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) held a symposium titled "Aiming at Creation of Venture Companies Leading the Next Generation," together with the U.S. Department of State, the Embassy of the United States of America, Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Around 250 people attended the symposium.
At the symposium, the U.S.-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council, established in January 2012 under the Japan-U.S. cooperation program on innovation and entrepreneurship between METI and the U.S. Department of State, published a report compiling past discussions.

- At the symposium, the U.S.-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council, established in January 2012, published a report compiling the details of the discussions at the past three council meetings.
The U.S.-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council is a council established under the U.S.-Japan cooperation program on innovation and entrepreneurship between METI and the U.S. Department of State, where public and private experts from both the U.S. and Japan gather and discuss best practices and policies on innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as on fields where bilateral cooperation can be made.
