Agency for Natural Resources and EnergySuccessful Applicants for the Project on Regional Revitalization with Renewable Energy
The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) have jointly been conducting projects for facilitating regional revitalization through power generation projects with renewable energy in the regions.
ANRE hereby announces that it and MIC have selected 31 successful applicants that will commit to conducting research and study on the feasibility of projects for generating power with renewable energy and on models for regional revitalization, and will compile a project development plan.
1. Purpose of the project
The launching of the Feed-in Tariff Scheme for Renewable Energy on July 1, 2012, has given Japan a great opportunity to implement measures for promoting regional revitalization using renewable energy.
The key to taking advantage of such an opportunity is to establish a framework that enables each region to be independent and enjoy growth through continuous development of such power generation projects and make use of the benefits they produce.
In order to achieve such a purpose, the successful applicants will formulate a project development plan under which a region will design a project for regional revitalization with renewable energy and will be able to independently conduct the project. In particular, such applicants will conduct research for the purpose of making a financially consolidated plan while receiving advice from experts.
2. Results of the examination
ANRE has selected 31 applicants based on the examination results by the examination committee. For details, visit the following website of the subcontractor that implements the project:
