- Announcement Regarding the Present Status of Introduction for Facilities Generating Renewable Energy as of October 31, 2012 (preliminary figures)
Agency for Natural Resources and EnergyAnnouncement Regarding the Present Status of Introduction for Facilities Generating Renewable Energy as of November 30, 2012 (preliminary figures)
The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) compiled the figures regarding the present status of introduction for facilities generating renewable energy as of November 30, 2012 (preliminary figures), and hereby announces the result.
The total combined capacity of such facilities from April to November 2012 reached 1,443,000 kW.
The total combined capacity of such facilities between April 1 and November 30, 2012, reached 1,443,000 kW, an increase of 288,000 kW from the previous month, among which photovoltaic power facilities accounted for 1,398,000 kW, an increase of 272,000 kW from the previous month.
| Facilities for generating renewable energy (type of source) | Combined total capacity of facilities that started operation from April 1 to November 30, 2012 (preliminary figures) |
|---|---|
| Photovoltaic power (for households) | 1,027,000 kW (300,000 kW from April to June) |
| Photovoltaic power (other than households) | 371,000 kW (2,000 kW from April to June) |
| Wind power | 14,000 kW (0 kW from April to June) |
| Small and medium hydropower (1,000 kW or more) | 1,000 kW (1,000 kW from April to June) |
| Small and medium hydropower (less than 1,000 kW) | 2,000 kW (1,000 kW from April to June) |
| Biomass power | 28,000 kW* (6,000 kW from April to June) |
| Geothermal power | 0 kW |
| Total | 1,443,000 kW |
* In addition to the above facilities, ANRE approved those generating electricity by combusting mixtures of coal and other materials which started operation from April 1 to November 30, 2012, from which 350,000 kW of electricity could be generated. However, ANRE considers that it is not appropriate to calculate all the electricity as the output from biomass power generation facilities. Based on this viewpoint, the capacities of such facilities are not taken into consideration as a matter of convenience.
** For the status of approved facilities as of November 30, see Appendix 2 below.
