Results of the 29th Meeting of the Domestic Credit Certification Committee-67 Applications for Domestic Credit Certification Approved-

The 29th meeting of the Domestic Credit Certification Committee was held on Friday, February 8, 2013, and 67 applications for domestic credit certification (total amount of domestic credits: 22,050 t-CO2) were approved.

1. Domestic Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)

The Domestic CDM commenced in October 2008 certifies, as domestic credits, the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduced by small and medium-sized enterprises through such efforts as the introduction of energy-saving machinery and equipment. It allows companies utilizing credits (joint operators) to purchase such domestic credits and utilize them for achieving the goals of their action plans and conducting CSR activities or promoting carbon offsets for the purpose of contributing to preventing global warming and revitalizing local communities.

The 29th meeting of the Domestic Credit Certification Committee was held and applications for domestic credit certification and emissions reduction projects were approved as follows.

2. Domestic credit certification

The Committee approved 67 applications for domestic credit certification (total amount of domestic credits: 22,050 t-CO2).

3. Approval of emissions-reduction projects*

The committee approved 50 emissions-reduction projects, making a total of 1,267 approved.

* Emissions-reduction projects refer to projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through such efforts as the renovation of boiler facilities and the introduction of photovoltaic power generation facilities.
