Authorization of Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd.’s Business Restructuring Plan under the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation
On March 25, 2013, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) authorized a business restructuring plan submitted by Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd.
In accordance with this plan, Toyo Seikan will establish Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Corporation as a pure holding company and conduct an optimal allocation of the group's business resources, thereby endeavoring to powerfully advance the company into the business area where an ordinary business would find it difficult to enter alone, as well as to improve the enterprise value of the group as a whole.
1. Authorization of Business Restructuring Plan
METI examined the business restructuring plan submitted by Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd. pursuant to Article 5, paragraph (6) of the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation. METI concluded that the company satisfied the requirements specified by said Act as an entrepreneur who is to carry out a change in business structure defined by Article 2, paragraph (4), item (i) of said Act as well as business innovation defined by Article 2, paragraph (4), item (ii) of said Act, and authorized the plan.
The company is now eligible for a reduction of the registration and license tax according to the splitting-off of the company.
