Small and Medium Enterprise AgencyMETI to Extend the Application Period for the Special Finance for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Specified Area Scheme

Since June 2011, Fukushima Prefecture and METI have been providing necessary loans for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) forced to relocate outside of areas affected by the nuclear power plant accident so that they are able to continue or resume their business at new locations in Fukushima Prefecture or in the areas where evacuation-related designation has been lifted after November 2011 in the prefecture.

Fukushima Prefecture and METI initially planned to end acceptance of applications for loans under the scheme at the end of March. However, in response to requests from related organizations, they have decided to extend the period to accept applications for another year until the end of March 2014.
