A review mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Japan from April 15 to 22 this year to review the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4 and associated efforts.
1. Summary
The efforts on decommissioning the reactors of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4 have been made according to the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4 (hereinafter referred to as "the Roadmap") adopted in December 2011.
A review mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Japan from April 15 to 22. The mission will visit the site of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in addition to holding the several meetings with related persons of ANRE and TEPCO in Tokyo to review the specific short-term issues and recent challenges on the efforts made on the basis of the Roadmap and to provide expert advices.
The outcome of the review will be reflected in the revision of the Roadmap to be planned around June.
This mission is expected to be the first of a two-mission program of the IAEA to review Japan's efforts on decommissioning TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4.
