The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has newly developed the Fair Subcontracting Practices Guidelines for the Animation Production Industry. METI will push ahead with diffusing the guidelines by holding briefing sessions in the future.
Outline
To establish desirable trade relationships between prime contractors and their subcontractors, METI develops the industry-specific Guidelines for the Promotion of Fair Subcontracting Practices (Subcontracting Guidelines),* which explain specific problematic practices in accordance with the Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, Etc. to Subcontractors and the Antimonopoly Act, and introduces desirable trade practices (best practices), with the goal of disseminating these best practices.
This time, METI has newly developed subcontracting guidelines for the animation production industry.
METI plans to disseminate subcontracting guidelines for the 16 industries, including the new guidelines for the animation production industry, by holding briefing sessions on a nationwide scale as well as disseminating these guidelines through related trade organizations.
