Agency for Natural Resources and EnergyClosing the Acceptance of Applications for the Subsidy Program for Introduction of Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems for Households

Aiming to expand the market for photovoltaic power generation systems for households while promoting reduction in the price of such systems, the Japan Photovoltaic Expansion Center (J-PEC) has implemented the Subsidy Program for Introduction of Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems for Households, with financial support by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). METI hereby announces that the acceptance of the applications for the subsidy program will be closed on March 31, 2014 (applications postmarked no later than this date will be accepted). Anyone who is considering introducing such systems by utilizing the government’s subsidy program should pay attention to the closing date.

In addition, acceptance may end even before the closing date if it becomes clear that the total amount of applied subsidies exceeds the outstanding budget.

Guidance on closing acceptance

Applications for the subsidy program are to be subject to delivery of subsidies in the order of receipt date when J-PEC receives such applications, unless the total amount of applied subsidies exceeds the outstanding budget before March 31, 2014 (applications postmarked no later than this date will be accepted).

If it becomes clear that such total amount of applied subsidies exceeds the outstanding budget even before the closing date, METI will publicize the earlier end of the acceptance period through a METI press release or via the METI website.

In this case, METI will designate the date when the total amount of applied subsidies will exceed the outstanding budget as the closing date for applications and will not accept any further applications that arrive at METI after that date. However, time lags in mail delivery due to differences of distances among regions will be taken into consideration by checking postmarks or other official marks on applications.

For an outline of the subsidy program, a flow of application procedures and closing date, documents and requests to be submitted after determination of providing subsidies, and other information, visit the following J-PEC website for your confirmation:
