The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) will jointly hold the Second Japan-US Renewable Energy Policy Business Roundtable (hereinafter referred to as the “roundtable”) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California, the United States.
On December 11, 2013, METI, DOE and DOC will hold the roundtable aiming to promote Japan-U.S. cooperation and interchange at the public-private level in the fields of renewal energy, energy efficiency, and smart community.
At the roundtable, following the first roundtable held in Tokyo in December 2012, the governments of Japan and the U.S. will introduce the trends in their policies in these fields. In addition, Japanese enterprises, which are developing businesses in the fields in both Japan and the U.S., including Toshiba Corporation, The Power Grid Solution Ltd., and Shimizu Corporation, will exchange views with U.S. enterprises to seek the potential for their cooperation in promoting the popularization of the related technology in the fields in both countries.

3. Details of the roundtable
About 30 enterprises will participate in the roundtable from Japan and the U.S. They will be separated in two sessions focusing on renewable energy and highly-efficient use of energy so as to exchange views on trends and other topics in the fields in both countries.
