A review mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) visited Japan from November 25 to December 4, 2013 to review the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4. The Government of Japan has received the final report from the IAEA review mission and hereby releases it.

The IAEA international peer review mission visited Japan from November 25 (Mon.) to December 4 (Wed.) to review Japan’s efforts toward decommissioning TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi NPS, which have progressed based on the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi NPS Units 1-4, and Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry received its preliminary summary report from the IAEA review mission on December 4, 2013.

The IAEA has completed its final report on the review mission and the Government of Japan has received it. The report recognizes Japan’s proactive attitude and approach towards addressing the many difficulties at the site following the incidents related to contaminated water. The report also includes the IAEA’s acknowledgements and advisory points in 19 areas.

This report will also be released by the IAEA on the same day. external link
