From February 10 to 14, the Fourth Round of Negotiations for the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and Colombia was held in Bogota.

  1. From February 10 to 14, the Fourth Round of Negotiations for the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and Colombia was held in Bogota.
  2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Akira Yamada, Director General for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yasunori Nakayama, Deputy Director-General for International Trade Policy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and representatives from other relevant ministries attended the meeting. From the Colombian side, Mr. Javier Humberto Gamboa Benavides, Chief Negotiator, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and representatives from other relevant ministries attended the meeting.
  3. In this round of negotiations, progress has been achieved in a wide array of areas on which both sides discussed, including Trade in Goods, Rules of Origin, Cooperation, Improvement of Business Environment, Government Procurement and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT).
  4. Both sides decided to work on scheduling the dates of the fifth round of negotiations through diplomatic channels.
