Winter Energy Conservation Measures- Winter Energy Conservation Campaign from November to March –

In order to promote energy conservation measures for the winter period from November to March, the Inter-Ministerial Liaison Council for the Promotion of Energy and Resource Conservation Measures was held and the Winter Energy Conservation Measures were decided.

The Inter-Ministerial Liaison Council for the Promotion of Energy and Resource Conservation Measures consists of representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, and it meets every year before the beginning of summer and winter, which are the high-energy consumption seasons. The council approved the Winter Energy Conservation Measures (see Appendix) today, October 31, 2014.

In the winter of FY2014, these energy conservation measures will promote efforts to save energy alongside the Electricity Supply-Demand Measures in Winter 2014, which were determined separately today.

The government will hold a campaign to raise public awareness of energy conservation and electricity saving, and also ask the public to cooperate in putting such energy conservation and electricity saving measures into practice.

The government will also take the lead in making efforts to save energy and conserve electricity, such as moderating the temperature settings of heated rooms and reducing lighting.
