“Youth × Intellectual Property”

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) will hold “TOKYO IP COLLECTION 2015” on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Tokyo International Forum.
This is an unprecedented event where participants can experience how intellectual property supports society, mainly targeting the youth who will support the Japanese economy in the future.

1. Event purpose

In recent years, the environment surrounding intellectual property has significantly changed overseas, including new business models created by the strategic use of intellectual property and diversification in the exercise of rights.

Under such situations, an analysis reported that Japanese companies in each field of business have instantly lost their market share to other companies even though they had created many innovations with their superior technologies because intellectual property was not appropriately managed.

In light of this situation, the JPO will hold a forum where potential users, such as young designers and researchers who may strategically leverage intellectual property, can experience how intellectual property supports society while having fun.
