METI to Invite Enterprises and Other Entities to Participate in WFES 2016 and IWS 2016

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) have started inviting enterprises and other entities to participate in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES 2016) and the International Water Summit (IWS 2016), both of which will be held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from January 18 to 21, 2016.

1. WFES 2016 and IWS 2016

WFES 2016 will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from January 18 to 21, 2016. This event is one of the world’s largest international exhibitions concerning renewable energy, and organized by the Abu Dhabi government, with international conferences concerning renewable energy to be held in parallel with the exhibition. At the previous exhibition, 540 enterprises and other entities from 41 countries exhibited, and 30,417 people from 170 countries attended (announced by the organizer).

In conjunction with WFES 2016, IWS 2016 will be held at the same time in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This event is an exhibition focusing on water-related businesses, such as those related to water resources and treatment, which is also organized by the Abu Dhabi government. At the previous exhibition, 161 enterprises and other entities from 39 countries exhibited, and 9,714 people from 76 countries attended (announced by the organizer).

2. Invitation to participate in the Japan Pavilions

With a view to promoting investment in Abu Dhabi, UAE and the Middle East, as well as increasing Japan’s presence in oil-producing countries, METI is planning to set up Japan Pavilions at WFES 2016 and IWS 2016, and has started inviting Japanese enterprises and other entities to participate.

A number of large enterprises, government officials, researchers, and others involved in energy, infrastructure, environment, and water-related industries from around the world are expected to participate in these exhibitions, which attract considerable attention in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and the Middle East. Consider participation in the Japan Pavilions as a great opportunity for public relations for the leading-edge energy- and water-related technologies and environmentally friendly technologies that Japan is proud of, and also as a business opportunity in Abu Dhabi and other oil- and gas-producing countries.
