Regarding the Fukushima Hama-Dori Robot Testing Zone project, which has been positioned as a project based on Japan’s Robot Strategy, Fukushima Prefecture promoted matching between companies wanting to perform robot testing and municipalities providing facilities where testing would be possible. Testing Zone No. 1 in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, which supports the needs of the companies, has been approved. Demonstration tests will start soon.

1. Outline of the project

For the purpose of realizing a new industrial revolution through effective use of robot technology, the Robot Revolution Realization Council was established, and six meetings were held in total from September 2014 to January 2015. In this strategy, the importance of preparing a testing site to field-test robots in order to bridge development and practical application is pointed out, and the establishment of the Fukushima Hama-Dori Robot Testing Zone is included as one specific measure.
