Japan Patent Office Introduction of New Potential for Design-Oriented Businesses-JPO to Hold the “Japan-China-Korea Design Forum” (at Zojoji Temple)-
The Japan Patent Office (JPO) is to hold the sixth Japan-China-Korea Design Forum at Zojoji Temple in coordination with the private design event AnyTokyo 2015.
Designers from Japan, China, and Korea will talk about examples of the development of designs that have created various kinds of value in society and about the potential of design rights to lead to success in design-oriented businesses.
1. Purpose of the Forum
The Japan-China-Korea Design Forum has been held by the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO), and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) in each country in turn. This is the sixth forum and the second hosted by the JPO. And for the first time, the JPO is to hold the forum in coordination with the private design event AnyTokyo 2015. At the forum, the JPO will show the importance of businesses that leverage designs along with case studies and examples of the proactive use of design rights as well as providing panel discussions and presentations by internationally active designers from Japan, China, and Korea. In addition, experts on design rights from the JPO, SIPO, and KIPO will introduce their countries’ design systems, with the aim that this forum provides opportunities to create more strategic design-leveraging businesses.
2. Forum outline
Date: October 30 (Fri.), 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Reception opens at 1:30 p.m.)
Venue: Zojoji Temple (4-7-35 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, the venue for AnyTokyo 2
015) Capacity: 100 seats, on a first-come, first-served basis (admission free)
Interpretation: Consecutive interpreting between Japanese and Chinese and between Korean and English to be provided
