You Could Help a Lot by Just Recycling "Used Paper" and "Glass Bottles" !

On April 1, 2016, the Ministerial Ordinance on Evaluation Standards is to be revised pursuant to the Act on the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources (hereinafter referred to as the “Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources ”), and new target for the utilization of used paper and cullet (glass bottles) involving the paper manufacturing and glass bottle manufacturing industries are to be set.

In order to promote the utilization of recycled resources and reusable parts, the Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources Designated Resources-Reutilizing Industries when it came into force. Among such industries, for paper manufacturing and glass bottle manufacturing, the deadline for achieving the new targets for the rate of utilization of recycled resources by manufacturers in this Ministerial Ordinance on Evaluation Standards under the Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources will be at the end of FY 2015. After various discussions on setting new targets for five years from now (the end of FY 2020), the new targets, which are one percent higher than the previous ones, have been set.

In order to promote the recycling of used paper and cullet (glass bottles), efforts for recycling and reuse need to be made not only by consumers sorting waste at home but also by a wide range of entities involved such as municipalities, waste collection business operators, and manufacturing business operators. METI would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation.
