Results of Damage Caused by the Earthquakes that Occurred in Kumamoto Prefecture and METI’s Response (as of 6:00 am, Thursday, April 28)

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces the results of damage caused by the earthquakes and METI’s response in the areas where METI is in charge.

Announcement to SMEs, small enterprises and individual business operators

Business counseling counters are continuously opening and counselors are providing telephone and face-to-face interviews free of charge with no limitation on the number of times. They are also flexible in addressing business operators’ requests to change loan repayment terms and other issues. Please feel free to ask about financing, resuming business, employees and any other problems.

City gas

Outage: About 23,000 households around Kumamoto City
Gas supply has been recovered to nearly 80% of the total outage. Recovery is planned to be totally completed by the end of April, ahead of the initial plan.

Others

As for convenience stores, supermarkets and gas stations in Kumamoto Prefecture, 99%, 88% and 92% of total stores and stations are respectively operating.

The electricity outage was resolved completely.
