Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Commission Assessment Policy for Written Applications Filed by Gas Utility Businesses for Approval under the General Provisions for Transportation Services Compiled

On December 7, 2016, the Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Commission (EGC) compiled an Assessment Policy for Written Applications Filed by Gas Utility Businesses for Approval under the General Provisions for Transportation Services.

In response to the finalization of the policy, the EGC submitted their report to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

1. Background

In the compilation of this policy, the EGC has incorporated the knowledge of external experts and discussed the issue from a professional, neutral and objective standpoint.*

*Note: The Expert Working Group on Gas Rate Assessment held eight meetings since August 9, 2016 in which they discussed the issue.

The Expert Working Group on Gas Rate Assessment compiled the discussion results into a draft assessment policy on December 1, 2016. Since then, the EGC further discussed and approved the policy at its 61st meeting held on December 7, 2016.

2. Submission of the assessment

Against this backdrop and in light of other situations, on December 7, 2016, the EGC submitted their report to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
