METI to Hold a Press Conference Marking the 100th Day before Opening Day of the Japan Pavilion at Astana EXPO 2017 Designating Mr. Yoshizumi Ishihara and Ms. Mika Mifune as new official supporters of the Japan Pavilion

Marking the 100th day before the opening day of the Japan Pavilion at Astana EXPO 2017, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), on March 1, 2017, will hold a press conference to explain the highlights of the Japan Pavilion to the press. Following this, METI will designate two official supporters of the Japan Pavilion and hold a talking-session with them.

1. Outline of Astana EXPO 2017

Astana EXPO 2017 will be held over 93 days from June 10 to September 10, 2017, in Astana City, the capital city of the Republic of Kazakhstan, centering on the theme “Future Energy.” Currently, 115 countries and 18 international organizations have pledged their participation in the exposition.

2. Exhibition of the Japan Pavilion

Under the theme “Smart Mix with Technology,” the Japan Pavilion aims to present Japan’s quality technology and its stance in contributing to overcoming global challenges to the rest of the world. To this end, METI is now making preparations for the pavilion.

3. Press conference marking the 100th day before the opening day of the exposition

Marking 100 days before the opening day of the exposition, METI, on March 1, 2017, will hold an event titled “Press Conference Marking the 100th Day before the Opening of the Japan Pavilion at Astana EXPO 2017” and release the latest information on the Japan Pavilion (see the Appendix).
