The technological changes resulting from IoT, big data and AI are transforming industries and society on the whole around the globe. In response to this situation, it is necessary for Japan and other countries to create new IoT business models and uncover and develop IoT platform creators, using them as a driving force for new growth.

The IoT Acceleration Lab was established for the purpose of selecting and cultivating advanced IoT projects, providing those projects with extensive support in terms of collaboration with enterprises, finance and regulations, and developing environments in which the results of the projects can be implemented on a large scale through additional regulatory reforms or the creation of new systems. As part of the efforts, the IoT Acceleration Lab held joint events on Monday, March 13, 2017, and selected and honored winners as follows.
