Summer Energy Efficiency Efforts Summer Energy Efficiency Campaign from June to September
In order to encourage energy efficiency efforts for the summer from June to September, the Inter-Ministerial Liaison Council for the Promotion of Energy and Resource Conservation Measures was held, and the Council made a decision on Summer Energy Efficiency Efforts.
The Inter-Ministerial Liaison Council for the Promotion of Energy and Resource Conservation Measures is comprised of related ministries and agencies, and has been held each year before the beginning of the Summer Energy Efficiency Campaign in the summer and the winter. On May 29, 2017, the Council made a decision on the Summer Energy Efficiency Efforts (see Appendix (in Japanese)).
During the Summer Energy Efficiency Campaign from June to September, METI will endeavor to raise public awareness of energy efficiency and call for the public to cooperate in carrying out such efforts.
The government itself will take the lead in engaging in the energy-efficiency efforts, such as the moderate use of air conditioning and avoiding the use of unnecessary lighting.
