Top-Executive Conference for Safety Measures in the Manufacturing Industry to be Held To further strengthen safety measures in the industry

The Public-Private Council for Safety Measures in the Manufacturing Industry* will hold a Top Executives Conference for Safety Measures in the Manufacturing Industry. At the meeting, top executives of industrial associations from three industries –iron and steel, chemicals, and paper – will exchange views before the public concerning expected roles and approaches that management should pursue in undertaking safety measures, including changes in factory operations and management philosophies, aiming to further strengthen safety measures in the manufacturing industry.

*Note: Aiming to further strengthen safety measures in the manufacturing industry, the council was jointly established in March 2017 as a cross-sectoral body by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association, and ten major industrial associations in the manufacturing industry (see the Appendix).
