Image recorders (driving image recorders) imported by Yupiteru Corporation caused product accidents in which the products and their surroundings ignited.

In two of the four accidents (Control Numbers A201700131 and A201700132)  it is assumed that a fire started from a lithium polymer battery cell built into the products. The cause of the fire is under investigation by METI.

As for the cause of the accidents concerning Control Numbers A201500254 and A201600273, which have been reported as serious product accidents, the joint meeting of: the Expert Investigation Council for Product Accidents Information under the Consumer Safety Investigation Commission; and the Third-party Panel for Product Accidents Determination of the Product Safety Committee under the Council for Consumption Economy examined the investigation results and determined that neither of the accidents was caused by the products in question.
