Japan Submitted the Bid Dossier (the Document Outlining the Plan) to the Bureau International des Expositions to Host the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai Region

On September 25 (Mon.), 2017, Japan submitted the bid dossier, the document outlining the plan, to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to host the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai Region.

1. Background and purpose

On April 24, 2017, Japan submitted the document to the BIE declaring Japan’s bid to host the International Registered Exhibition under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

Candidate countries of the World Expo 2025 were required to submit a bid dossier to the BIE by September 28 (Thur.), 2017, a document describing an outline of their vision for hosting the exhibition.

At 16:00 (local time) on September 25 (Mon.), 2017, Mr. Masato Kitera, Ambassador of Japan to France, visited the BIE and submitted the bid dossier to Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes, Deputy Secretary General of the BIE.
